Here's what's new in this release:
Finally, there have been
numerous little improvements and bugfixes to MyPaint's speed, user
interface, and its brush collections.
Download MyPaint (only the sources, at the moment)
(and yes, there will be an updated windows build - as far as I know, that is
)
- A configurable toolbar has been added with dropdown widgets for colour,
brush, and brush settings. - Floating tool windows can now be docked into a
sidebar inside the main window. - A "Lock Alpha" mode has been added for
brushstrokes - There are now some basic layer compositing modes
- Mouse and stylus buttons can be bound to different actions via the preferences
- There's a new scratchpad tool which can be used for thumbnails, notes, or
recording brushstrokes and colour choices.
Finally, there have been

Diurnum - Atlas of My Day
Over the years, I have a kept a number of illustrative journals combining art and words - poetry, quotes, thoughts, notes - I tend to draw during meetings because it helps me stay focused. They have gone by a variety of names - Leaves, Hodge Podge Journal, Bark In My Hair (I even illustrated my late grandma's recipe book!). It is time for these pages to see the light of day. So together they shall become Diurnum - Latin for day-book, journal.

Renamed Landscape and Still Life
Hey everybody,
just wanted to let you know that I renamed "Landscape and Still Life" to "Landscape and Inanimate Objects" because we have been getting lots of submissions to this category which actually are paintings of animate - i.e. alive - beings.
(Which is not a problem at all, because we can easily move those paintings to the appropriate folder, but it is a rather tedious task).
So, don't let me further disturb you, go ahead an paint! :)
Submission Limits | Mypaint 1.1 for Windows

Submission Limit
You might have noticed that we didn't accept a lot of submissions in the last couple of weeks. This is due to the fact that we haven't got many active moderators and that we get lots of submissions. The latter is why we set the global submission limit to 2 deviations per day (for now - not sure if this'll actually work out all right).
Now, if you think you can help us with moderating the submission queue, feel free to send me a note ;)

Group Permissions
We're currently experiencing issues with Group Settings and -Permissions. Just so you know ;)
Update: It should be possible to submit deviations again. Sorry for any inconvenience. It might happen that a lot of submissions are going to "expire"; in that case, please resubmit.
