Here's what's new in this release:

  • A configurable toolbar has been added with dropdown widgets for colour,
    brush, and brush settings.

  • Floating tool windows can now be docked into a
    sidebar inside the main window.

  • A "Lock Alpha" mode has been added for
    brushstrokes

  • There are now some basic layer compositing modes

  • Mouse and stylus buttons can be bound to different actions via the preferences

  • There's a new scratchpad tool which can be used for thumbnails, notes, or
    recording brushstrokes and colour choices.

Finally, there have been
numerous little improvements and bugfixes to MyPaint's speed, user
interface, and its brush collections.

Download MyPaint (only the sources, at the moment)
(and yes, there will be an updated windows build - as far as I know, that is ;) )

Links 'n' stuff..

MyPaint is at mypaint.intilinux.com. On the front page, there's links to download the program for both Linux and Windows, as well as links to related projects.

There's a bunch of MyPaint Tutorials on the MyPaint Resources page, and there might be even more on the Wiki or in the Forum.

Also, be sure to checkout ~Deevad's very cool time-lapse video showing his use of MyPaint.

I just downloaded this program and I love it!

The only thing is:
How do I upload a drawing from MyPaint to DeviantArt?

Once you're finished save your file as either jpg or png and then locate the file on your disk and you can upload just as you would any file.

You can save your work in JPEG and thus have a picture instead of a .ora drawing file (you can also save as PNG). If you use the frame function and make a .jpeg save Mypaint will only save what's in the frame as a picture. Make sure to not overwrite the .ora version with the .jpeg version, cause then you'll loose all your layers and etc. if you want to paint on it again (then it'll be like taking any picture and paint on it). After you have a picture you just upload it on devart like you would any picture. I hope this was helpful!

Hey, I've love this program ( I REALLY DO~!! X3) BUT it has a few problems on my mac . . .

One: It freezes everytime I click file, brushs, and options, and the tabs at the top. It's annoying becuase I can't do anything about it and I have to switch programs.

Two: I can't save in JPNG (or whatever it's called) or any other so that I can edit it in other programs and submit it here. It quit on me almost everytime.

I hope this can be fixed and I can't wait to start drawing on the program again!

It can only get fixed if you help the developers do so ;)
Is there any (so called) debug-output? If it crashes with an error, there probably is some "technical" text which you could provide us with.

I'm not sure how good the mac port actually is, as mypaint is a GTK application and GTK on mac has some quirks.
